I am a husband, father, and teacher. When I am not busy with the family or work, I like to make all sorts of silly little games.
Over the years, I have been making silly little games with the various games engines Currently I am doing things with the Godot Engine.. I have picked up a few tricks here and there over that time. This channel holds tutorials of some of the things that I would like to give back to the community.

Python For Beginners - Setup
The first thing that we are going to do in this series is to make sure that we have the latest version of Python installed. Next we will install the latest version of VSCode and enable the Python extension that will help with our Python developmental journey.

Godot 2D Car Controller in C#

Godot 2D Car Controller made with C# using the mono version of the Godot Engine and Visual Studio Code as the Code Editor. I really like this Car Controller, so I am porting it to a C# Godot Engine Tutorial. There will be a few edits in later videos, but for now, here is an almost straight conversion of the original. Bros pc about to take off
I'm doing this in 2025, total noob, so I don't understand all the coding, but, this tutorial is really helping me come to grips with Unity, so I wanted to thank you.
it works even in 2025
thanks bro
I rarely comment , but this is something that I want, for the game that I m currently working on. Thankyou.
ahhh not Unity !
Nah. I really like the work flow in godot. The more I get use to it, the faster I can get things done.
I was just telling a person going through a hard time about your channel. She needs a hobby. I’m glad to see you back.
buttons won't work on my rapsberry pi 4
I am buyting it today haha for 25 euro
great tutorial !!
I found this very useful. A couple notes for people (like me) watching in the future, there have been some changes. The [Signal] definition needs "EventHandler" on the end. [Signal] public delegate void SolvedPuzzleEventHandler(); The Connect() function is no longer the recommended way to connect signals. Instead use this: bus = GetNode<SignalBus>("/root/SignalBus"); bus.SolvedPuzzle += SolvedPuzzle_Reciever; Where "SolvedPuzzle_Reciever" is the function name to call. And you can use the SignalName property of your object to get the name of the signal. bus.EmitSignal(SignalBus.SignalName.SolvedPuzzle);
I know the video is old but thanks so much for this
13 years later, still helpful. Thanks!
Another really nice tutorial - Seems to be slightly more natural to take the direction as target.position - transform.position and then forget above using the abs value and just check for angle > -90 && angle < 90 - If I rotate the emeny around the y axis i.e. yaw it, it does seem natural to use the range between -90 to 90 + getting the same result as you are :)
Following this in 2024 - What an excellent set of tutorials + good fun! - so well shown and explained explained :)
Creating a video game has been my childhood dream. Ten years ago, I tried learning C++ from a book but got stuck at pointers. Then, I tried learning Unity and C#, but I struggled with architecture, data structures, and classes. That’s when I discovered your incredible channel and this tutorial series. I watched and followed it entirely. Since then, I’ve created five games, and one is currently on sale on Steam. I can’t thank you enough for your time, patience, and dedication in publishing these videos. You didn’t just teach me how to use Unity; you taught me the fundamentals of coding, and now I can learn on my own thanks to you. I hope you’re doing well. Cheers from France!
dont see anything that is written - program interface, so cant see what you select, rather harder for understanding, cool in rest things

btw, you also need to call the TakeDamage event when regenerating or else it will not update untill you take damage again. so either call the TakeDamage event in the Regenerate() method in Shield or create a new Event to call in the Regenerate method. I just did it this way. void Regenerate() { if (currentHealth < maxHealth) currentHealth += regenAmount; if (currentHealth > maxHealth) currentHealth = maxHealth; EventManager.TakeDamage(currentHealth / (float)maxHealth); } lol nvm, he addresses this in the next video
YO it was taking a while for me to find this exact topic. this is crazy, i remember following your action RPG tutorial on unity. hope you been well btw. thanks a million
🎉
Just discovered you in 2024. I wish if you can continue to do up to date tutorials. Really enjoying it
Discovered you in 2024. Hope you are still around and ready to report back for tutorial duties. 😂
Thank you!
Why is every second number in my log equal to zero? For example, 50 : 0, 120 : 0, etc
Fantasy, and of course the first tutorial that didn't skip something. which has an explanation for everything, the only problem is that not a single spaceship in reality, and to be a semblance of reality, not even the spaceship in the game should stand still. When not using the controls, it should at least hover at a moderate speed and not stop completely in place. The only thing that has been left out in this tutorial , in my opinion, but very important. and since I probably won't know how to do it myself I don't think I'll be watching this tutorial again and implementing this way of flying. but thanks anyway. You teach in a fun way.
saved me a lot of time and frustration tyyy.
Frikin awesome dude! Simple and it just works! Just wondering what one should worry about in general in terms of generating asteroids or "infinite" objects, or like how does one measure hte limit?
if your watching these and following along and your light and line renderer don't show up after you change to intensify mode - don't forget to turn them back on in the object inspector first as these will still be off from the previous chapter. Great little development guide - maybe treat us to a modern updated version sometime?
Thanks!
Great stuff, and I like your forest walk at the end! :D
OK PETEY IS BACK!!!
Thank you So muchhh!! watched everything :)
im so glad i found this old video because im using an old version LOL
Fond memories of your Hack n Slash and evil cubie... Would love to see you update the hack and slash for the modern era! Thanks as always.
I was just talking about that on discord last night. I would not really have time for it until after the new year though.
@@BurgZergArcade Hack 'n' Slash is like a fine wine, its worth waiting for a good vintage. :D
This is really cool! I have been looking into it some, it is really great.
It really is! I spent a few hours last night with the editor. It really has not grown on me. I still prefer to just create a new project in vscode and do it all myself there,
Hello! You were my first unity tutorial 😂
Glad I could help!
Good to hear from you!
Thanks, Going to try to get back on to a weekly schedule again before Christmas.
@@BurgZergArcadeGlad to hear. You started the tutorial genre.
OH Hello.. I wish you would go back in to UNITY PLEASE !!
There is ready a ton of Unity stuff out there. I have not liked the direction Unity has been headed in since 2017. I highly doubt I will ever make public videos on it again.
@@BurgZergArcade Oh OK I suppose I think its about the community and not Unity. your loyal subscribers are craving for your Unity tuts and its a shame were missing out on it!. OK I respect your view...AGAIN Unity WINS and the devs DONT even on UA-cam!!
wow you are still around... you got me into game dev 10+ years ago..
yup. I teach at a private high school now, so not much time for creating larger games. I am teaching a game dev class next year and wanted to learn something new for it. That is Babylon.js right now.
God bless you!
I take it that this worked for you then :)
Great info, unbelievable I was pulling my hair out over this >_>
Glad I could help!
do I need a breadboard, can I plug my button with some soldered jumper wires directly into 39/40 in the pi? -- I just want the button to register a click not light up an LED
Youre very enthusiastic :D
Is there an updated video for this?
It worked for me like this: if(!(Mathf.Abs(angle) <= 90 && Mathf.Abs(angle) >= 270))
Help The type or namespace name 'Thruster' was not found (are you missing a using directive or assembly reference?)
Nice to see you Pete. It's been TOO long. Hope you and the family are all well.
thanks. Everything is going good on this front.
Welcome back. Yes I switched to Godot too (unity changing the previous tos was not a good move😂). But I'm actually glad I did it now since right now with version 4.1 Godot is not bad at all and the C# support is almost on par with GDScript (some export platform are missing but for android we are almost there and version 4.2 not stable got an experimental export for Android platform for C# project) and I can actually port everything easily now (nothing against GDScript I just like C-like syntax more). So yeah perfect timing for unity 😂. Their current policy is actually better for the free version but, since they like to change the tos a lot, nobody trust them anymore. Also I'm actually having fun using Godot (and my knowledge of another engine was not a waste at all).
